Bikini Behavior

The good news: According to a 2000 study in the New England Journal of Medicine, participants tended to think they gained about four times more weight between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day than they actually did. The overall weight gain was less than a pound.  The bad news: The researchers found that most participants did not lose that weight in the intervening months and repeated the same behavior year after year, adding weight slowly but steadily, mostly in the winter months.  So what can you do to stay at a healthy weight when faced with all those goodies at the cocktail parties and family gatherings in the next few weeks?

 1.  Keep a food diary.  (A small study indicates people who do gain less weight.)  2. Use your scale.  3. Get yourself a cute little bikini like today's vintage pick of the day provide an incentive NOT to eat the whole box of Godiva chocolates in one sitting.  This bright 1970s bikini is new old stock and features not-too-skimpy bottom and a snap-front halter top just bursting with a bright poppy floral print.  A fun--and motivating--find for the vintage fashionista!
