 Off the beaten path of fall traditions, Joseph Domingo offered a vitalizing contrast of the sleek, sassy “vixen.”  Featured at LA’s Fashion week, Domingo’s Fall 2008 collection, surprisingly naughty yet nice, played dress-up with plunging neck lines, feline accents,  and not so macho sophisticated styling that ushered in the return of the pin-stripe pant. And staying true to his original game plan, Domingo flaunted sexy pieces meant to wow and flatter with the most delicate detailing of satin lace-up closures and embellished metallic accents. Some memorable moments included the entrance of Domingo’s “Red Halter Fortuni dress” and several notable fans that appeared front row, such a Shar Jackson, Shondrella Avery, and Cassandra Hepburn. Hair was tousled, teased and wiry while make-up was reflective of that of the catwoman, emphasizing beckoning eyes and plenty of drama…

Sophia Bush was seen yesterday on the red carpet of Global Green USA's 5th Annual Pre-Oscar Party. The party, which was held at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, was to raise awareness about smart climate solutions and benefited the green rebuilding of New Orleans.

 

Sophia wore a gorgeous pair of geode and diamond earrings, set in 18k white gold by ROCKRAS by Kimberly McDonald. ROCKRAS, a favorite in Hollywood, has also been worn by Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sheryl Crow, Daryl Hannah, Jordana Brewster, Lindsay Price, Jennifer Nettles, Candace Bushnell and Stacy London.

 

Bright colors dominated at the Screen Actors Guild awards as the red carpet showcased some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Typically black tie, yellow, along with hot and cool shades of blues took precedent. Did you happen to get a glimpse of Kate Beckinsale’s billowy entrance maker or Vanessa Williams in mustard toned Escada ? And what about desperate housewife, Maria Crosse? Her simple teal strapless gown was another bold color choice, along with Sara Ramirez’s successful transition to royal purple, although spring is not officially here yet! Then there was Angelina who in an attempt to camouflage the obvious, opted for an earthy tie-dye ensemble, which actually worked! But then again, this is a woman who can get away with just about anything, pregnant or not!

So with our hopes of the usual red carpet season dashed, one of my favorite opportunities to live vicariously through celebrities was squelched. Rather than wallow in front of yet (another) night of the American gladiators who are becoming the Greek satyr chorus in my now culturally bereft existence, I headed to the local nail salon.  Of course, I could discover the work of writers who weren't on strike, but since a mere $12 bought a manicure, I gave up on edification.  Normally, I belabor the process of selecting a polish, as if it were a life changing event, the name a brand denoting my state of being.  I quickly found my fix, a blue-red shiney confection, the genius collaboration between polish creator, Essie, and E! Entertainment.  I was "Really Not a Waitress" for a while,  moved up or down the social ladder, to "Vamp" and, had a brief flirtation with a combination of "Ballerina" and "Baby's Breath" but those belonged in a sophisticated place that is too uptown for a twenty-something.  For now I decided I've ARRIVED.  "Live From the Red Carpet" is too sophisticated for a cocktail waitress, even if she is an aspiring actress.  But, it still matte cherry is perfect for anyone who has a lot of spark.  I scored my own bottle of the limited edition hue at Ulta and come summer I will have to bleach my toes because for Spring this color is making me happy.

 

 

 

Katherine Moenning keeps it casual at the season 5 premiere party for 'The L Word' at The Factory on Sunday in West Hollywood. Her tee might be out of character, but the sultry eye-liner and tailored blazer looks just like the Dior Homme ones Shane sports on the show.  Is life imitating art or vice versa?

Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman has always been known for her daring choices - both on screen and on the red carpet - and she rarely disappoints. Here she is at the Australian premiere for her latest film, "The Golden Compass", in head-to-toe silver. The Balenciaga suit is high fashion at its most forward, and it is certainly a gutsy choice. I love the high-waisted pants. And her makeup is great. Which leaves only one question... is it flattering? You decide. -- Tracy

Here's an actress you are not going to be to take your eyes off of:Ellen Page. Known first for her provocative role in last year's "Hard Candy", Ellen is now filling up theaters -- and awards-season ballot boxes -- in the independent comedy "Juno". The 20-year-old Canadian actress plays a pregnant teen who decides to give her baby to a
childless couple played by Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman. Here she is at the premiere looking low-key and gorgeous in gray silk chiffon. Expect to see her on red carpets from here to the Oscars... Tracy

Even though it was Guy Ritchie’s big night, the Material Girl still stole the spotlight. The happy couple walked the red carpet at the Revolver screening in New York. Madonna looked stunning sporting a shorter hair style and wearing a black silk Dolce and Gabanna cocktail dress with sky high Dior shoes. It is very hard to believe Madge is turning 50 in 2008. Her skin looks flawless and her body is insane. Guy Ritchie didn’t look so bad either in his three piece suit. This is one hot couple!
