Joseph Domingo-LA Fashion Week

Off the beaten path of fall traditions, Joseph Domingo offered a vitalizing contrast of the sleek, sassy “vixen.”  Featured at LA’s Fashion week, Domingo’s Fall 2008 collection, surprisingly naughty yet nice, played dress-up with plunging neck lines, feline accents,  and not so macho sophisticated styling that ushered in the return of the pin-stripe pant. And staying true to his original game plan, Domingo flaunted sexy pieces meant to wow and flatter with the most delicate detailing of satin lace-up closures and embellished metallic accents. Some memorable moments included the entrance of Domingo’s “Red Halter Fortuni dress” and several notable fans that appeared front row, such a Shar Jackson, Shondrella Avery, and Cassandra Hepburn. Hair was tousled, teased and wiry while make-up was reflective of that of the catwoman, emphasizing beckoning eyes and plenty of drama…

Project Runway Season 4 Winner - Christian Siriano

Bravo to Christian Siriano!!!

Project Runway Season 4's winner and youngest winner is Christian Siriano. Christian consistently delivered beautiful clothes, entertainment and comedy throughout this season's show. It is no surprise that he delivered a sleek and "fierce" final collection with attitude at Bryant Park that even made Victoria Beckman smile. "Get The Winning Look From Project Runway On Bluefly ".

What do you think about Christian's final collection? Too Alexander McQueen? Anyone think that Rami Kashou or Jillian Lewis should have won? Share your thoughts!

Sophia Bush's Staple Accessory at Fashion Week

Like all women, diamonds are a girl's best friend. With multiple wardrobe changes for NYC's Fall 2008 Fashion Week, the actress kept her Jacob and Co. jewels a staple accessory. Diamonds really do go with everything!

Project Runway Season 4 Fashion Show

Project Runway's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show was last Friday. The top five contestants showed their collections but only the top three will air in the show's finale. So, which two designers were decoys?

If you're like me and love a good spoiler, check out the videos of the collections with commentary from Newsday's Anne Bratskeir.

Kim Raver and Brooke Shields Attend NY Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is under way in New York. Lipstick Jungle stars, Kim Raver and Brooke Shields, were spotted in the front row of today's J Mendel show at the Plaza Hotel. Both ladies sported peep-toe pumps but I love the way Kim Raver paired hers with black, opaque hose.

Be a TART

The Spring 08 TART show was fun, flirty, and fabulous. Front-row attendees included celebs like uber hottie Megan Fox, Stacie Keibler, and the OC's Autumn Reeser, all self-proclaimed TART fans. The runway was a flurry of darling dresses, all in TART's signature jersey knit fabric. Their colors ranged from a muted mink to a bold red, with a sprinkling of pretty prints added to the mix. After the show the celebs gathered backstage to place their orders for the adorable Spring line (insert jealousy here), which I am anxiously looking forward to seeing in stores.

LA Fash Week: Candice Held

True to her name and eclectic following, Candice Held, offered a delicate sampling of spring’s upcoming looks at the Lightbox. In the line up of the Fashion week’s final wrap up, Held’s mesmerizing handkerchiefs paired with eye-catching clothing offered a fresh perspective. First up were vintage prints, along with animalistic versions of shocking pink and purple zebra print, trailed by a sophisticated and sassy bonanza of ladylike chic, which all seemed destined for an exotic vacation. Hair was wild and makeup was bold with electric hues painted on the models' eyes. It’s probably safe to say that Held’s future summer girl will be much like herself; one with plenty of gusto and a lively imagination...

LA Fashion Week: Joseph Domingo

The ambiance at the Lightbox was eclectic as many of Domingo’s guests were a ‘mixed bag’ of fashion enthusiasts and social elite. There was something very sensual about Domingo’s collection as pallets of pink, mauves and golds took over the runway. Some unforgettable pieces included a feathered, billowy tube top, as well as sparkling evening gowns that were reminiscent of ancient Egyptian empires. Swimsuit picks were just as original with plenty of shimmery metallic vibes, asymmetrical silhouettes, and bold minimalist looks were shown, especially for the guys (who kept it simple in bikini cut bottoms). When all was said and done, the crowd left wowed with images of elaborate braided hairdos and weightless make-up that spoke to Domingo’s vision of Spring.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is in full swing, and I'm wistfully imagining watching the shows from front row. What could be better than to preview next year's spring and summer fashions in one of the most trendsetting (and my personal favorite) city in the world? Fond memories of Top Shop aside, I love British designers like Alice Temperley and Matthew Williamson. Though Temperley's ready-to-wear collection was shown at NY fashion week, Matthew Williamson's collection took center stage today in London. There was no shortage of minidresses in strong hues like violet and orange, and designs seemed to take inspiration from across the pond with Native American beading. Looks like the bold trend just keeps on coming, and I say bring it on!

Spring L.A.M.B.

NYC Fashion Week ended last week, and Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. collection was one of the standout shows. It seems that four years into running her own line, she's finally hit full stride. The first few years of L.A.M.B. were youthful, energetic collections filled with reggae, ska and hip-hop influences. Her recent Spring '08 show, however, had a glamorous 60s feel with sequined shift dresses, tailored suit coordinates, smart blazers, and dashing pencil-leg pants with side-button details.
There were also some beautiful evening gowns with dramatic ruching and zipper details. The show still had a palpable musical energy, but it just seems like Stefani has ascended into the realm of "full-fledged designers." Could it be that the funky "holla back" girl has finally transformed into the prime "haute couture" vixen? That certainly seems the case.
