The timeless appeal of Lafont’s “Intrigue” is back for spring/summer 2008.
Looking just as chic and stylish now as it did when it made its debut 15 years ago,
“Intrigue” is available in a number of colors and patterns including crocodile.

The Return of the Slingback

This spring has a very sixties vibe and these shoes are the perfect accessory. They remind me of when I was a little girl and I used to dress up in my grandmothers shoes. Available at Anthropologie.

Don't Let the Snow Stop You

bathing%20suit.jpgSo many people escape to Hawaii, Aruba, and Florida this time of year and seriously, who came blame them? Relaxing on a white sand beach, sipping margaritas is much more appealing than trekking through the snow in an unflattering down coat. Now, in order to make sure you're looking stylish in the sun, pack a glamorous one piece like this one by Jantzen.  Last season, the 1970s inspired cut out reemerged along with unattractive tan lines. Luckily designers have returned to their senses and the ultra feminine one-piece is all the rage. Just don't forget the sunscreen!

Sensible Style

mittens.jpgEven though gloves are essential this time of the year, they're really cumbersome. Have you ever tried dialing a phone number from your cellphone with gloves on? Or even just taking out your credit card? It is nearly impossible. But these convertible gloves are awesome. Basically, you just have to remove the mitten-like covering and your fingers are free to do all the things you need. Then, when you're done, you just slip the cap back on and your fingers are warm and toasty again. These aqua blue gloves are only $16 so you've got nothing to loose. Add a scarf in sweet tart brites and you're sure to beat the winter blahs.

Dreamin' of Theory

I fell in love.....with a jacket. I really didn't know it was possible until I laid my eyes on the lush fabric, the button detail, the stitching on the back and the high neck (think Gwyneth Paltrow). The Loris W. Jacket exudes sophistication - it's demure, classy and will literally be your best friend this Winter. Throw on some heel-less boots, jeans and a bright pashmina (or scarf) and you'll be looking like you stepped out of Vogue. Brilliant.

Nothing to Wear: The Cold War

Give your weekend style a jolt with a snappy nautical style blazer. It adds instant school girl chic and a touch of class to casual outfits. You’ll love how the cutaway front of this style creates a peek-a-boo effect, yet still fights the cold war. Layer your preppy find over skinny jeans and accessorize with equestrian flat boots. Just don’t be surprised if you’re asked to join the cast of Gossip Girls.

Fret not - we've got ya covered! Our trends pages are filled with hands-down winners in the dress department that will flatter all body types. Three of my top picks for looking party-perfect are (from L to R above) Brunya's taffeta navy dress with embellished neckline, BCBG's taupe wool dress, and Maggy London's bright red belted shift dress. Check out our Trends section for more drool-worthy dress options.

Dreaming of a Green Christmas

The holidays are just a bad time for trees. They get cut down left and right to be used for decoration, holiday cards, and wrapping paper - only to be disposed of shortly after. If you find yourself feeling a bit guilty about all the waste, try buying greeting cards and wrapping paper made from recycled paper. We found these cute recycled cards that also have an eco-friendly message on them. Now that you have your cards taken care of, shop eco-friendly presents in our Building Green store.

Investment Bag

So maybe your fave mini purse from the summer isn't gonna cut it this fall or winter - it's time to grab a bag that can fit all of your "extras" (i.e. emergency kit: hat, scarf, gloves, lip balm so you don't get wind burn!). This Sissi Rossi tan satchel is the perfect accompaniment to any outfit - it comes in an array of colors and will take you seamlessly from Fall through Spring. Don't let the price tag scare you - the leather is such high quality that you'll be sure to use it for years; it's classic and gorgeous at the same time.
