Webaholic

Not since the advent of computer, has there ever been better way to shop.  So what was once a considered a cumbersome task –trying to find your size, color etc., in a brick and mortar, retail store- should now become a thing of the past. Unless you of course enjoy the thrill of the chase, in this case, competing with other rival customers over thumbed through, less-than perfect merchandise that somewhat  resembles remnants of a frenzied yard sale. Ever notice that the last dress left in your size is always missing a button or two and has a ton of make-up stains? But reluctantly in a panicky haste, you end up buying-fearing you’ll never lay eyes on something this hot again…. Yeah, I know- Sucker!!! Instead why not shop “live” on your PC-you spend about half of your life there anyway… or would you prefer to while away more time and CASH on a Sunday afternoon?? Another FYI (as if you didn’t already know, wink) you tend to part with a little less green online!! Just make sure to take advantage of all those really cool web perks!  Right now Urbanoutfitters.com and Zappos.com have free shipping for any girl who’s a ‘confirmed’ or ‘unconfirmed’ shoe fanatic…does anyone remember my shoe size?

Happy Spring Shopping!

The Return of the Slingback

This spring has a very sixties vibe and these shoes are the perfect accessory. They remind me of when I was a little girl and I used to dress up in my grandmothers shoes. Available at Anthropologie.

Love It or Hate It: Religious Boots

crossboots.jpg

I have always thought of Neiman Marcus as the arbiter of all things stylish and chic.  But these “must have” boots have me questioning their taste level recently.  Since Ugg-like boots are perennially popular I can understand the impulse to embellish the basic model.  But, should reflection on the vow of poverty make you cringe at sporting crosses on your $400 foot warmers, take comfort.   NM had plenty of secular options available in cozy shearlings,  jaunty equestrian styles, faux-fur lined and down.

Shades of Grey

I just love this multi-functional high waisted dress by adampluseve. The color is neutral, the cut is flattering without being revealing, and it's right on trend with the high waist and belt. So versatile you can wear it from Sunday brunch to the office holiday party to meeting his parents for the first time. Pair it with black tights and comfy heels for most occasions, and dress it up with some glam heels for more festive events (like this ladylike pair by Vince Camuto - too cute!).

Comfy Classics

I live in Colorado, so boots for me are a must. Still, I just can't muster up the rationale to buy another pair of Uggs - it just isn't right. Keeping up with the trend-wagon is hard, but when you buy classic pieces (subtle hint) that are good quality, you won't have to buy a new pair every other month. Flat boots are all the rage with celebs these days - they're classic, comfortable, and totally reasonable. I love all things Frye, and these boots are no exception....check 'em out for yourself.

Patent Peep Toe Perfection

This is why I love Marc Jacobs. Only he could create a pair of candy-apple-red peep toe pumps so scrumptious that I want to take a bite out of them. These babies are not to be worn with any old outfit on an ordinary day - they are a powerful fashion statement to be worn only when fully prepared to deal with the myriad of jealous looks, longing stares and endless compliments that will inevitably come your way. Shoes this hot are a weapon of mass seduction - wear them with care and relish every moment. Meow!

Snakeskin Stilettos

These sexy stilettos by Stuart Weitzman are so much fun - just looking at them puts me in the mood for a fab night on the town. Plus, I love that they cover a multitude of Fall trends - metallic, sky-high heels, and snakeskin (even if it's embossed snakeskin, in this case). Since metallics are the latest in neutrals, you can pair these with (almost) anything. My pairings of choice are the little black dress with metallic shoes and curve-hugging jeans, a cute top, and metallic heels. Who's ready to party?

Go for the Gold

I've been eyeing this adorable pair of mirrored gold Cynthia Vincent flats since July. I love how the shape of the toe is just right - not pointy and not too round and clunky. They're perfectly lady-like and are great for dressing up jeans or dressing down a dress. Get them while you can, 'cuz these pretties are on sale for only $65 (down from their original price of $260!). For more comfy & cute shoes, check out our flats store.
